2 min read

Overview

SehaFile generates professionally formatted prescriptions ready for printing. Each printed prescription includes the clinic header (logo, name, address, phone), doctor information (name, specialty, license number), patient details (name, age, file number), visit date, and the complete medication list with dosages and instructions. The print layout is handled by the PrescriptionTemplate component and opens in a print-optimized window.

Steps to Print a Prescription

  1. Complete the prescription entry — Ensure all medications are added to the visit with correct dosages, frequencies, and instructions.
  2. Click the Print icon — In the Medications section of the visit workspace, click the Print Prescription button (printer icon) at the top-right of the section.
  3. Review the print preview — A new window opens with the PrescriptionTemplate layout showing:
    • Header — Clinic logo, name, branch address, phone numbers
    • Doctor info — Doctor name, specialty, syndicate number
    • Patient info — Patient name, age, file number, visit date
    • Medications table — Drug name, dosage, frequency, duration, and instructions in Arabic
    • Footer — Doctor signature line, next visit date if set
  4. Print — Click the browser print button or press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on Mac). Select your printer and paper size (A5 is the default prescription size).
Configure your default paper size in Settings > Print Settings. Most Egyptian clinics use A5 for prescriptions. You can also set up a thermal printer for quick receipt-style prescriptions.

Prescription Layout Options

  • A5 Standard — Half-page format, most common for clinics
  • A4 Full Page — Full page with larger font, suitable for elderly patients
  • Thermal/Receipt — Narrow format for thermal printers
Ensure your clinic header is configured in Settings > Clinic Profile before printing. Missing clinic information will result in blank header areas on the printed prescription.
