Medications

Overview

The Medications section lets you maintain a comprehensive list of all drugs you are currently taking or have taken in the past. Each medication entry includes the drug name, dosage, frequency, prescribing doctor, and start/end dates. You can also upload prescription images for reference. This section ensures that any doctor treating you has full visibility into your medication history to avoid interactions and duplications.

Viewing Medications

1. Navigate to Medications -- From the bottom nav, tap "Profile", then select "Medications". Your medications are listed as cards.
2. Current vs. Stopped -- Current medications appear with full opacity and a green "Current" badge. Stopped medications appear faded with a gray "Stopped" badge.
3. Card Details -- Each medication card displays: drug name (Arabic and English), dosage (e.g., "500mg"), frequency (e.g., "twice daily"), and prescribing doctor name if available.
4. Filter -- You can filter to show only current medications or include stopped ones using the filter toggle at the top.

Adding a New Medication

1. Tap "+" to Add -- On the medications page, tap the floating add button to open the new medication form.
2. Drug Name (Arabic) -- Enter the medication name in Arabic (required). Example: "أموكسيسيلين".
3. Drug Name (English) -- Optionally enter the English name. Example: "Amoxicillin".
4. Dosage -- Enter the prescribed dose. Example: "500mg" or "10ml".
5. Frequency -- Enter how often you take this medication. Example: "مرتين يوميا" (twice daily), "كل 8 ساعات" (every 8 hours).
6. Prescribing Doctor -- Optionally enter the name of the doctor who prescribed this medication.
7. Start Date -- Select when you began taking this medication.
8. Tap "Save" -- The medication card appears in your current medications list.

Uploading a Prescription Image

1. Open Medication Detail -- Tap on a medication card to open its details.
2. Tap "Upload Prescription" -- This opens the file picker. Select an image (JPG, PNG) or PDF of your prescription. Maximum file size is 20MB.
3. View Prescription -- Once uploaded, a "View Prescription" link appears on the medication card, allowing you to view the attached image at any time.

Stopping a Medication

1. Tap "Stop Medication" -- On a current medication card, tap the red "Stop Medication" link. This marks the medication as stopped and records the end date as today.

FAQ

Can I link a medication to a condition?

Yes. When adding a medication, you can optionally associate it with an existing medical condition using the condition filter parameter.

What happens when I stop a medication?

The medication remains in your history with a "Stopped" badge and today's date as the end date. It is not deleted, preserving your complete medication history.

Can my doctor see my medications list?

Only if you have shared your records with that doctor or their clinic through the Record Sharing feature.
