Record Sharing
Create sharing grants with specific scope and expiry, generate shareable links
Overview
Record Sharing gives you fine-grained control over who can access your health data, what they can see, and for how long. Unlike family linking (which grants full access), sharing grants let you specify a scope (e.g., only lab results, or only conditions), set an expiry date, and revoke access at any time. You can also generate temporary shareable links for doctors or clinics not yet on SehaFile. Every access is logged so you always know who viewed your records and when.

Creating a Sharing Grant
- Navigate to Sharing -- From the "Profile" tab, select "Record Sharing".
- Tap "Create Grant" -- Open the new sharing grant form.
- Select Grantee Type -- Choose who you are sharing with: Doctor, Clinic, or Other.
- Select Grantee -- Identify the specific doctor or clinic receiving access.
- Define Scope -- Choose what data to share. Available scopes include:
- Full Profile -- Everything in your health record
- Conditions Only -- Only medical conditions
- Medications Only -- Only medication list
- Lab Results Only -- Only laboratory results
- Documents Only -- Only uploaded documents
- Visit History Only -- Only visit records
- Set Expiry (Optional) -- Choose when this access should automatically expire. Leave blank for indefinite access (can still be revoked manually).
- Tap "Create" -- The grant becomes active immediately and appears in your active grants list.
Generating a Shareable Link
- Tap "Generate Link" -- On the sharing page, tap the generate link button.
- Select Scope -- Choose what the link will give access to (same scope options as above).
- Set Duration -- Specify how many hours the link remains valid (e.g., 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours).
- Copy Link -- The system generates a unique URL. Copy it and share via WhatsApp, SMS, or email to the intended recipient.
Managing Active Grants
- View Active Grants -- The sharing page lists all active grants with grantee name, scope, and expiry date.
- Revoke Access -- Tap "Revoke" on any grant to immediately terminate that person's access. The revocation is instant -- their next request will be denied.
Viewing the Access Log
- Open Access Log -- On the sharing page, tap "Access Log" to see a chronological record of who accessed your data.
- Log Entries -- Each entry shows the accessor's identity, what scope they viewed, and the timestamp. The log is paginated (20 entries per page).
Tip: When visiting a new doctor, generate a 24-hour link with "Full Profile" scope. Share it just before your appointment so the doctor can review your history, then let it expire automatically.
Warning: Shareable links can be forwarded. Anyone with the link URL can view the specified data until it expires. Only share links through secure channels.
FAQ
Can I create multiple grants for the same doctor?
Yes. You might give a cardiologist access to "Lab Results" indefinitely and "Full Profile" for 48 hours around a procedure.
What happens when a grant expires?
The grantee immediately loses access. The grant moves to an "Expired" status in your history but no action is needed from you.
Can I see exactly which records someone viewed?
The access log shows the scope and timestamp of each access. It does not show which specific records within a scope were opened.
