Create your SehaFile citizen account using your phone number and national ID

3 min read

Overview

SehaFile uses a passwordless authentication system tied to your Egyptian National ID (14 digits) and mobile phone number. When you register, the system verifies your identity by sending a one-time password (OTP) to your phone. No email or password is required -- your phone number is your key to accessing your unified health profile.

Steps to Register

  1. Open the Citizen Portal -- Navigate to citizen.sehafile.com on your mobile browser. Tap "Create New Account" on the login page to go to the registration screen.
  2. Enter Your National ID -- Type your 14-digit Egyptian National ID number. The field accepts only numbers and shows a countdown of remaining digits (e.g., "3 digits remaining"). The ID must start with 2 or 3 and be exactly 14 characters. Your date of birth, gender, and birth governorate are automatically extracted from the national ID.
  3. Enter Your Phone Number -- Type your Egyptian mobile number (e.g., 01012345678). The field shows the +20 country code prefix automatically. Valid prefixes are 010, 011, 012, and 015.
  4. Fill Personal Details -- Enter your full name in Arabic (required) and optionally in English. Select your blood type if known.
  5. Tap "Register" -- The system sends a 6-digit OTP code via SMS to your phone number.
  6. Enter the OTP Code -- On the verification screen, type the 6-digit code you received. The code expires after 5 minutes. If you did not receive the code, tap "Resend Code" to get a new one.
  7. Account Created -- Upon successful verification, you are automatically logged in and redirected to your dashboard.

Tip: Your National ID is used solely for identity verification and health record linking. It is stored encrypted and never shared with third parties.

Warning: Each National ID can only be registered once. If you see "This National ID is already registered," use the login flow instead or contact support.
