Manage doctor qualifications, schedules, vacations, photos, and appointment configs
Overview
Doctor profiles contain comprehensive professional information for each physician in your clinic. Beyond basic login credentials, doctor profiles include qualifications, certificates, working schedules, consultation fees, bio text, languages spoken, and vacation management. This information powers the online booking page, printed prescriptions, and patient-facing doctor selection screens.
Configuring a Doctor Profile
- Navigate to Settings > Staff — Find the doctor in the staff list and click Edit.
- Professional details:
- Title — dr, prof, consultant (displayed before name on documents)
- Specialty — Clinical specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pediatrics)
- Medical Syndicate ID — Egyptian Medical Syndicate registration number
- Experience years — Number of years of clinical experience
- Languages — Languages the doctor speaks (for patient matching)
- Qualifications — Add degrees with institution and year (e.g., "MBBS, Cairo University, 2010")
- Certificates — Upload certificate files with issuer and date
- Bio — Write bio_ar and bio_en for the online booking page
- Photo — Upload a professional avatar photo
- Consultation fee — Override the clinic default fee for this doctor
- Working hours — Set doctor-specific schedule (may differ from clinic hours)
- Appointment config — Override slot duration, buffer time for this doctor
- Accepting patients — Toggle is_accepting_patients for online booking visibility
Managing Vacations
- In the doctor's profile, click "Manage Vacations".
- Add vacation periods with start_date, end_date, and reason.
- During vacation days, no appointments can be booked for this doctor. Existing appointments on vacation days will show a warning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a doctor have different fees for different services?
The consultation_fee is the default for standard visits. For procedures, pricing comes from the procedures catalog. For different consultation types, create separate fee schedule entries.
What happens to existing appointments when a vacation is added?
Existing appointments are NOT automatically cancelled. A warning badge appears on affected appointments, and the admin should reschedule them manually or notify patients.
Can doctors edit their own profiles?
Doctors can update their bio, photo, and notification preferences. Schedule, fee, and qualification changes require admin approval.
